They watch the Best Political Team on television in the nude. They get their sample ballots from the mailbox in the nude.

And some nudists in Pasco County, Florida want to go the next step—they want to vote in the nude.

People living at Caliente Resorts, a clothing optional resort in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, recently met with the county supervisor of elections to see if they could get their own polling precinct for the upcoming election.

Angye Fox of the resort thinks it’s the perfect place. She says there are an estimated 12,000 nudists in Pasco County—the largest concentration of nudists in the country.

They want to become the first nude polling precinct in the United States.

“We have our freedom of choice to vote, and our freedom of choice to be nude. It would be nice to have them together,” Fox said.

The Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, Brian Corley, says that they won’t adjust the polling places for the upcoming elections, but when they redistrict in 2010 the county’s polling locations, he will take into consideration the groups suggestion. There are now 294,000 registered voters and 154 polling locations in the county.

And the secretary of state’s office says there’s nothing in the law that would stop a polling facility from allowing its voters to cast in the nude.
